Tips for a productive morning

Tips for a productive morning

It's easy to fall into bad habits that you may not realise are having a negative impact on your wellbeing.

Here a 6 top tips for a productive morning.

1. Don't check your phone as soon as you wake up.

You may not think this is a big deal but it can set your mood before you even get out of bed. Instead, try taking 10 minutes of mindful breathing, affirmations that will create a positive outlook and set your intentions for the day.

2. Get some light

Get up and throw back the curtains. Even on a dull day, letting in any natural light will awaken the brain properly. Seeing your surroundings, from rolling countryside to bustling cities can create an excitement for a day of possibilities.

3. Do one small win straight away.

The best way to do this is to make your bed. It's one task done before you even leave the room and this will create a snowball effect for the day.

4. Write a to-do list

Don't set yourself up for failure. Make it an achievable list by jotting down 2-3 tasks. Overwhelming yourself from the get-go with 20 jobs will not start you off in the right head space.

5. Move

Don't pressure yourself to get in an hours high intensity workout. Just 10 minutes of stretching and breathing is a great start. It's all very peaceful and calm, helping you to carry that through the day.

6. Pick the right food and drink

It's not a problem if you can't go without your morning coffee, just try and get in a glass of water beforehand. This means you're not denying yourself something and you're getting a head start on your water intake for the day. When it comes to food, if you are short on time, go for the food that will give you sustenance. Be sure to have a fruit supply that you can eat on the go.
